At JC, we believe that responsible investment begins with respecting the land. In every project we develop, we strive to make a positive impact that goes beyond the physical real. It was with this spirit that we joined Apadrinha uma Oliveira, an initiative focused on the recovery of traditional and abandoned olive trees in Abrantes, Portugal.
The Apadrinha uma Oliveira project is a social and cultural initiative that reconnects people with the land. By restoring abandoned olive trees, it creates jobs, strengthens the rural economy and produces 100% Portuguese olive oil. Each recovered tree is cared for by local teams who work the land in a sustainable and regenerative way. The project brings together farmers, experts and communities, promoting biodiversity, preserving agricultural and cultural heritage, and helping to fight desertification and wildfire risk.
To support this cause, JC has adopted 20 centenary olive trees, contributing to the continuity of an ecosystem that is both a symbol and a source of livelihood for the Portuguese territory. These trees represent more than an environmental initiative, they are a tribute to the landscapes that have shaped the country and a reminder that the true value of an investment also lies in the impact it leaves on the land and on its people.
For JC, this collaboration is a way to reaffirm an essential principle: the real estate sector has an active role in the regeneration of the territory and must be part of the solution, helping to protect what is essential.
