The history

Quinta do Ventoso, also known as Quinta Pedro D'Oliva, is a century-old property founded by the great-great-grandfather of the current owners.

Pedro Luiz D'Oliva transformed Quinta do Ventoso into a traditional farm where, over the years, wine growing and agriculture have been the heart and soul of the house. For many years and over several generations, the farm produced a significant amount of wine, fruit and vegetables, generating many jobs and contributing to the local economy.

Originally, the property covered almost 30 hectares and was set in an area of very fertile land, with two wells and a natural spring.

Older generations remember Pedro Luiz D'Oliva as a generous and dedicated man and a local benefactor. His descendants continued his dream and for decades dedicated themselves to the property and the family home.

The property currently covers 4.5 hectares with around 1400 square meters of building area. With a privileged location and a 360-degree view that reaches the Tejo River as well as the Serra de Montejunto. The main house has three floors:

- The first floor: comprising 5 bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom.

- The attic, which runs the length of the house but has independent access to the outside.

- The basement, which runs the length of the house and has a ceiling height of approximately 4 meters (it is not an underground basement).

In addition to the main house, the property's original architecture features a series of secondary houses, once used as caretaker's quarters, a cellar and farm storage, as well as stables for cows and horses.

The group of houses is laid out in an interesting way, creating a welcoming atmosphere around the different buildings, with plenty of land surrounding the construction area.

Located 40 km from Lisbon, 1.5 km from the town of Alenquer, in the parish of Santo Estevão, with easy access to the A1, A8 and Ponte das Lezírias (A2).

Alenquer

The municipality of Alenquer is located on the border between Ribatejo and Extremadura and is part of the district of Lisbon.

It is dominated by mountains and hills, with the Serra de Montejunto as its most striking natural landscape.

Of Moorish origin, the town was reconquered from the Christians by Dom Afonso Henriques, the first king of Portugal, in the 12th century.

It is popularly known as a crib village, due to the harmonious arrangement of its houses on a hillside.

With an imposing past and a leading role in Portuguese history, Alenquer has a rich archaeological, architectural, artistic and cultural heritage, making it the perfect place for unique programs and experiences.
