Property valuation expert witness

Independent valuation evidence for litigation and arbitration

When a dispute turns on value, the court or arbitrator needs a clear, independent opinion that can be examined. José Covas FRICS, RICS Registered Valuer, provides valuation expert evidence for litigation and arbitration — focused on the number, the evidence behind it, and how that evidence is presented to the decision-maker.

Services

  • Court-appointed expert
  • Party-appointed expert
  • Arbitration expert
  • Independent valuation for disputes

Each instruction starts with a short conflict check and a written scope, so the role, timeline and deliverables are agreed before work begins. The same standards of independence apply whichever party instructs.

Typical matters

Instructions cover all property types — residential, commercial, industrial, land and mixed-use, including portfolios when needed. Examples of issues include market value and bases of value, rent and lease terms, expropriation and compensation, partnership or inheritance divisions, development viability disputes, and quantification of damages linked to property value.
